On July 27th 2017, our School’s Dr Gary Bosworth recently presented a paper on ‘Social capital creation and experiences of integration among migrant women in rural Lincolnshire’ at a conference for the European Society for Rural Sociology, Krakow (pictured).

The research was carried out by Dr Bosworth’s PhD student, Mahdieh Zeinali, who discovered that female migrants who engage in entrepreneurial activities are pro-actively extending their personal networks and becoming recognised as business-women, not just as “migrants”.

Dirk Strijker, a Visiting Professor at our School also presented a co-authored paper on rural research methods, which you can read online.
